Since the beginning, this website has been an entirely volunteer effort. We need more volunteers to help us with the growing workload. We will provide a letter of volunteer contribution to people who take the tasks listed below and complete them.

Volunteering your skills to get yourself known is a good strategy for building networks and finding work in this fast-growing field of economics. Some of these positions may be funded in the future.

Librarian

Position Title: ccLibrarian

Overview:

The ccLibrary is the largest repository of documents on complementary currency systems. It is a multi-lingual library which encourages contributions from all types of complementary currency systems from anywhere in the world. The ccLibrarian is responsible for the maintenance of the ccLibrary, located at www.complementarycurrency.org/materials.php, and the ccGallery, located at www.complementarycurrency.org/gallery.php.

Responsibilities:

• Receive documents and references from contributors.
• Search other sites for useful references to add to the ccLibrary and ccGallery.
• Create and update categories to reflect present and future information organization.
• Collaborate in the promotion of the ccLibrary as a central repository for useful information about Complementary Currency Systems, and the ccGallery as the place for useful images.

Desirable Qualities:

• Experience in information management and organizing.
• Familiarity with the different types of complementary currency systems.
• Ability to work in a team-based international environment.

Internet / Database Programmer

Position Title: Programmer

Overview:

The Complementary Currency Resource Center is a php/mysql driven website, custom-built by Albert Fløde. As this website nears completion, we would like to start on the next elements of our overall plan.

We need people with skills in php / mysql, Java and html to collaborate on open source programming projects related to Complementary Currency systems.

Desirable Qualities:

• Experience in programming in php, mysql, java or other languages.
• Familiarity with the different types of complementary currency systems.
• Ability to work in a team-based international environment, usually via email.
• Interest and ability to work with program designers.

Marketing and Promotions

Position Title: Marketing & Promotions Coordinator

Overview:

Our concept, approach and results have been generating quite a lot of attention lately. We need a Marketing and Promotions Coordinator to turn that attention into interest, desire and action. We've already done a lot of work on this, but to be effective we really need someone with actual skills in this field, in regular marketing as well as in social marketing or cause-related marketing.

Desirable Qualities:

• Experience in developing marketing campaigns and promotional materials.
• Familiarity with the different types of complementary currency systems.
• Ability to work in a team-based international environment, usually via email.

Language Translators

Position Title: Translator

Overview:

The Complementary Currency Resource Center is an International Resource, therefore we are making every effort to make our services available in as many languages as possible. We are looking for people with translation skills from English to French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Chinese and other languages for the translation of important documents and web pages.

Responsibilities:

• Receive documents for translation from the Project Coordinator.
• Translate using the program PoEdit for ensuring proper language encoding for distribution on the Internet, or using MS Word.

Desirable Qualities

• Familiarity with the different types of complementary currency systems.
• Ability to work in a team-based international environment, usually via email.
• An interest in language translation and the development of new multilanguage facilities for the internet.
• Interest in broadening the understanding of complementary currency systems into other languages.

Researchers and Writers

Position Title: Researcher

Overview:

We are looking for academics, researchers and students to write research papers on topics that are directly relevant to our work. If you wish to write papers on complementary currencies for your courses, we can help you to define topics that would be helpful to us as well.

Responsibilities:

• Develop individual Research project ideas, or receive ideas from the Project Coordinator.
• Prepare research documents for publication.

• Ability to work in a team-based international environment, usually via email.

Curriculum and Course Developer

Position Title: Curriculum Developer

Overview:

We have started work on an online learning course in Complementary Currency Systems using the excellent open source program Moodle. (www.complementarycurrency.org/ccLearn). We have a rough course outline and the materials, we just need someone to put it together.

Responsibilities:

• Familiarization with Moodle learning program.
• Receive present course outline, access to materials.
• Develop Curriculum and course for implementation.

Desirable Qualities:

• Familiarity with the different types of complementary currency systems.
• Ability to work in a team-based international environment, usually via email.
• Familiarity with Curriculum Development and Online Learning.
